Vertigo birthday event a great success!
Many thanks to all of our friends, local colleagues and former England Cricket Captain, Alec Stewart, who all took the time to join us on 28th November for a celebration of our first two years in business and the first year at our Vertigo offices in Bristol.
We were delighted to welcome those of you who could make it to our offices for an evening of informal drinks and canapes, as we reflected on the past couple of years.
It was Mr. Stewart though who took centre stage for very obvious reasons! With the latest Ashes series currently taking place in Australia, Alec talked about his time in the England camp and shared with us some of his experiences and anecdotes. As England’s most capped cricketer there were plenty of them and it was great to have Alec’s input on the night.
During the evening, Alec was kind enough to sign a cricket bat, which we then raffled off for over £200, our guests on the evening showing their generosity by purchasing tickets. The money raised will go to the charity we support, Children’s Hospice South West. Thank you again for your donations and congratulations to Alex Sullivan, who you can see with his prize below.
After Alec had finished speaking it was over to Peter Hill, one of our directors, to say a few words on why we felt this occasion was worth marking.
Formed two years ago, mainly by people who had all been employees of small firms who had subsequently been purchased by much larger firms, Brunel were set up with the stated aim of making sure we provided that unique personal approach you only get with a smaller business.
We all feel as though, with a larger business, it’s too easy to lose that ‘special something’ when it comes to connecting with clients and colleagues, and events like our reception on the 28th are our way of making sure we stay connected with all of you!
Thank you again to those of you who attended and for your charity donations through the raffle on the night. We look forward to welcoming you to many more of our birthday celebrations in the future!
